About 2.5 million Lada Nivas have been built with almost 700,000 of these exported to 100 markets The Lada Niva is not legal in the United States to buy new, and that is probably new for many reasons. We can’t imagine that the new Niva has great emissions or meets US safety standards. That is not to say that the Niva would not be successful if it were sold here.
